RREAL is a partner in AIR SAFETY: A programme to prevent aerosol borne respiratory diseases using Artificial Intelligence, funded by NIHR.

AIR SAFETY aims to develop and evaluate the Artificial Intelligence air Safety Tool (AISaT), a software designed to guide healthcare settings in implementing low-cost, effective solutions such as air filters to reduce airborne infection risks.

Our team’s role focuses on leading systematic reviews to assess evidence on AI implementation in healthcare, conducting usability testing to ensure the tool is practical for NHS staff and patients, and delivering a comprehensive process evaluation of AISaT’s implementation across NHS hospitals.

This includes engaging with diverse stakeholders, such as infection experts, building engineers, staff, and patients, to refine and guide AISaT’s integration into medical practice.
