Project Details:

The field of mental health science is exponentially growing as an area of research, however, a number of debates remain that can hinder development and progress.

The purpose of this exploration was to identify contested topics and debates that are impeding the progress of mental health science, provide background information on where and to whom they are relevant, and point to possible solutions.

The project consisted of four studies:

(1) a Media Review;

(2) a Systematic Review;

(3) Expert consultations; and

(4) Cataloguing and categorisation of debates.

This project was actively guided by people with lived experience at every stage of the research, as well as including additional consultations with experts with lived experience.
