RREAL is a partner in the Central London Patient Safety Research Collaborative (PSRC), funded by NIHR. Prof Vindrola leads Theme 2 on organisational learning and contributes to Theme 1 on safer services.

Prof Vindrola leads Theme 2 on organisational learning and contributes to Theme 1 on safer services. Members of RREAL work on the following PSRC projects: 

• E-PERISCOPE: Evaluation of National Perioperative Screening and Optimisation Programme; 

• An ethnographic study of the impact of the National Audit Project 6 recommendations on practice; 

• Learning from patient safety reporting practices: use of Big Qualitative Data methods to analyse patient safety incidents and evaluation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF); 

• SONAR1: Snapshot Obstetric National Obstetric Anaesthesia Project 1 ; 

• Analysis of the implementation of Martha’s Rule in the NHS; 

• National Audit Project (NAP7) 7: A Clinical Service Evaluation of Perioperative Cardiac Arrest in the UK
