Wellcome Trust: Digital Mental Health in Low-and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs)

We were commissioned by the Wellcome Trust to complete a thorough report on a very important topic - "Digital Mental Health in Low- and Middle-Income Countries". 💻🧠

In this report, we mapped who is doing what, where - a full snapshot of the current landscape of digital mental health initiatives in LMICs. As always at RREAL, we applied rapid method principles to complete this task in the most efficient and rigorous way. This included combining participatory qualitative research, advanced searches of academic and grey literature, and using specialised software. Give us a thumbs up if you'd like to hear more about the methods and results!

We are delighted to highlight the remarkable work being done in LMICs, as well as point to challenges in the digital mental health field. Insights gained guide Wellcome to direct resources where they can have the greatest impact, and our report has directly informed their recent funding call 👇

Qualified teams are invited to apply for their Mental Health Award, designed to accelerate scalable digital mental health interventions: https://lnkd.in/djfjwhPv.

This project was led by our Co-Director Dr. Norha Vera San Juan, and excellently executed by our team of experts:

- Dr Sam Martin
- Dr Phoebe Barnett
- Abinaya Chandrasekar
- Jorge Palacios, PhD
- Akerke Makhmud
- Dr Claudia Elena Mascareñas Maldonado
